Seth Bhaji Bhai Bin Kadibhai (RA) was a respected and pious personality whose life stands as a beautiful example of honesty, faith, and simplicity. Even today, his name is remembered with great respect among mumineen, and his life continues to inspire those who learn about his character and devotion.
Early Life and Birth
Seth Bhaji Bhai (RA) was born in 1213 Hijri in Mandvi, Kutch (India), which was known as an important center of trade during that time. From a young age, he showed qualities of sincerity, simplicity, and inclination towards deen.
At an early age, he migrated from Mandvi to Karachi. This move became a turning point in his life, where his journey of hard work and success truly began.
Struggle and Business in Karachi
After settling in Karachi, he initially started working in a job. Through his honesty, dedication, and strong work ethic, he earned the trust of people around him. With time, he started his own business and gradually achieved success.
However, his true identity was not just as a businessman, but as a man of integrity. He was widely known as an honest, truthful, and God-fearing individual. People trusted him deeply because of his character and fairness in dealings.
Character, Piety, and Worship
One of the most remarkable aspects of his life was his deep connection with faith. He was a pious and devout person who spent a significant amount of time in worship.
It is mentioned that due to some family disagreements between his two wives, he preferred spending more time in the masjid. Instead of reacting negatively, he chose patience and turned towards ibadat, making the masjid his place of peace.
Today, that same masjid is known as Ibrahim Masjid in Karachi, which still carries the memory of his presence and devotion.
Wafaat and Burial
On 2nd Rajab al-Asab 1268 Hijri (1853 A.D.), during a severe outbreak of cholera in Karachi, Seth Bhaji Bhai (RA) passed away.
At that time, Karachi did not have a proper designated graveyard, so he was buried at a place not far from his residence. Over time, his grave became a place of spiritual significance.
Ziyarat and Spiritual Importance
His qabar mubarak is now built with a roza, and many mumineen visit for ziyarat. It is widely believed that many people’s prayers and wishes (mannat) are fulfilled through his waseela.
Respected spiritual leaders including Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) and Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) have also performed ziyarat at this blessed site, further highlighting its importance.
