Introduction – A Humble Servant of Dawat Whose Life Overflowed with Barakat

Syedi Mulla Wahed Bhai Saheb A.Q. is remembered as one of the most devoted and humble khidmatguzars of Dawat-e-Haqq. Though he came from a modest background, his sincere khidmat, unwavering loyalty to the Dai, and his life of simplicity brought him great honour in the eyes of the Duat and in the hearts of Mumineen.

His blessed qabar mubarak stands today in Surat, near Navsari Bazaar, inside the qubba built by Syedna Taher Saifuddin R.A. in 1339 H., a place visited with deep reverence and love.

Early Life in Ahmedabad – A Modest Beginning

Syedi Mulla Wahed Bhai Saheb A.Q. was originally from Ahmedabad and belonged to a family of traders. During the period of intense zulm and persecution in Ahmedabad, he migrated to Surat, seeking safety and livelihood.

He started a very small business there, stitching and selling lungis. His income was extremely limited—he made two lungis for four annas (25 paise)—yet he managed his entire household with sabr, shukr, and tawakkul.

Despite financial constraint, his lifestyle reflected purity and discipline:

  • He prayed all five farz namaz in the masjid

  • He lived honestly and earned through halal

  • He helped Mumineen whenever possible

  • He remained content with whatever Allah granted

These qualities became the foundation of his spiritual elevation.

Daily Khidmat in Surat – Loyalty to Aamil & Dawat

Every single day, Syedi Mulla Wahedbhai A.Q. would present himself in the hazrat of Surat’s Aamil,
Syedi Hamza Bhai bin Syedi Qasim Khan A.Q.

There he performed all kinds of khidmat—small, large, physical, administrative—whatever was required. He never considered any work beneath him. His obedience, punctuality, and quiet service made him beloved among the hudood and respected among Mumineen.

In Shahrullah, he would host Mumineen for iftar, even though his own income was limited. Yet barakat never left his home.

The Miracle of the Barakat-Walo Charu (Pot of Blessings)

A very famous riwayat describes a sign of Allah’s barakat in his life.

Syedi Mulla Wahedbhai A.Q. owned a special charu (pot). Whatever was placed inside the pot—grain, flour, or any food item—it never finished. No matter how much his family used, it continued to refill, a sign of pure barakat granted due to:

  • His honesty

  • His simplicity

  • His khidmat

  • His deep imaan

This mu’jiza is remembered even today as a reflection of Dawat’s blessings upon sincere servants.

A Moment of Trial – Protecting the Dai

A defining moment in his life came when Dail Ajal Syedna Hebatullah Moayyed Fiddin R.A. faced danger from the ruling authorities in Surat. At that time, Syedna needed to be safely hidden to avoid persecution.

The famous Nagar Seth Navlakhi Seth was approached to offer refuge, but he rejected the request. His refusal became the cause of his downfall.

In contrast, Syedi Mulla Wahedbhai A.Q., despite his small home and humble means, immediately offered shelter. Syedna was hidden beneath the weaving loom inside his house. This humble act of bravery and love became the greatest honour of his life.

It is said that:

Navlakhi Seth lost everything due to his refusal, while Mulla Wahedbhai’s khidmat elevated him to a daraja of nearness in the sight of the Dai.

This incident is a shining example of how sincerity, not wealth, brings a person close to Aqa Maula.

Qabar Mubarak in Surat – A Place of Barakat

Syedi Mulla Wahed Bhai Saheb A.Q. passed away on
8th Jamadil Ula 1165 H / 1747 A.D.

His qubba mubarak stands:

  • Near Navsari Bazaar, Surat

  • Built by Syedna Taher Saifuddin R.A. in 1339 H

  • Surrounded by quboor of several hudood, shahido, and humble servants of Dawat

Nearby are buried:

  • Bairo Ratanbu (Wafaat 1100 H.)

  • Mulla Jalal, his son (Wafaat 1177 H.)

  • Mulla Mohammedbhai bin Syedi Sultan Ali Rampuri (Wafaat 1200 H.)

  • Miyansaheb Shk. Taiyebbhai bin Jafar bin Syedi Najam Khan (Wafaat 1107 H.)

As one walks ahead toward the qabrastan, there are sacred graves of:

  • Shk. Nazar Ali bin Mulla Farhullah, 7th generation of Syedi Fakhruddin Shaheed A.Q. (Wafaat 1299 H.)

  • Shaheed Nooruddin bin Mulla Alibhai, ancestor of Syedi Abdur Rasul A.Q. of Banswara

This blessed area has become a center of ziyarat, dua, and deep spiritual reflection.

Legacy – A Life That Teaches Humility, Sabr & Khidmat

Syedi Mulla Wahedbhai A.Q.’s life reminds Mumineen that:

  • Greatness is not in wealth

  • Honour comes from khidmat

  • Barakat comes from honesty and contentment

  • Nearness to the Dai comes from love and sacrifice

His story continues to inspire all who engage in Dawat khidmat with sincerity and humility.
